Marius by M. Chapoutier

It was Marius, Michel Chapoutier’s great-grandfather, who put the Chapoutier name firmly on the Rhône Valley map in the early 20th century. He pays tribute to this great man by producing these wines, reflecting the warmth of the southern France terroirs in which they are rooted. The red is made from its most notable grapes, Grenache and Syrah. The result is a robust and elegant wine with aromas and flavours of red berries, spice and floral notes. The white is aromatic, floral and fresh.

Baricci’s history dates back to 1955 when Nello Baricci, one of the 26 founders of the Association of Brunello di Montalcino in 1967, purchased 5 hectares of vineyards in Colombaio di Montosoli. The first bottle of Rosso di Montalcino was made in 1968 followed by the first vintage of Brunello di Montalcino in 1971. Part of the Artevino portfolio, the Vetus estate comprises 10 hectares of old Tinta de Toro (the local name for Tempranillo) vines, located in Villabuena del Puente in the region of Morales de Toro. It is a project started by the owners of Izadi in the Toro DO, with their first vintage in 2003. The vineyards are 30 years old, planted on south-facing sites with sandy and clay soils.
